Video Chat Options For Android Tablet

Thanks to Apple Face Time, the world of smartphones and tablets are now enjoying video chat. No longer are we limited to voice and static pictures on our smartphones and tablets, we can now do live streaming video chat. Android tablets, with its diverse ecosystems, give birth to many video chat apps. What are your options ?

1. Skype

Skype is well known in the PC world as the best video chat. It allows you to make not only Skype-to-Skype calls, but Skype-to-any-phones. Including long distance and overseas calls. For a fee, of course. This App is available for Android Tablet, and the latest version is optimized for Android tablet usage. Check out the App on Google Play.

2. Google Talk

Google’s own messenger do support not only text, but also voice and video chat. It is available for Android version 2.3+ devices. It should be installed by default on most Android devices, but if not, you can get it from Google Play.

3. Qik

Qik is originally a streaming service for website and still is. In order to connect, both parties must have Qik installed. Not the best way to video chat.

4. Yahoo Messenger

The old lady, Yahoo Messenger also have video chat function built-in and can be used by even Android 2.2. For devices compatibility, you cannot beat Yahoo Messenger.

5. ooVoo

This is a Skype clone, if you will. The best thing about this is its competitive rate and the ability to have a group video call. So, if you like to hang out with friends over long distance, this can be a good option.

Apart from the 5 Apps above, there are many Video Chat options available over at Google Play. But in my opinion, those 5 are the most popular and the best App for Video Chat.
