Apple with its iPad introduces a new way tablets interacts with its user. It was the ability for the screen to adapts to portrait or landscape mode, depending on which way the tablet is held. Google, not to be outdone, patented a UI feature in 2011 that also adapts to the way we hold the tablet.
In this case, the change is more subtle. Clickable button are moved depending on which side our pointing hand is located. Best illustrated below:
Note the arrows buttons and right hand / left hand on the pictures above.
Right now, I am thinking this is customized for right handed person. It is unknown if it can be customized for left-handed person.
Now, Google has the patent. When will it make it into its Android Tablet OS ?
